Over the past few months, Asger Lindgaard and I, Angel Delgado, have been developing a fictional short film series set in the European Union. Our first story follows a blind politician who stumbles into a corruption scandal—a dark comedy exploring power, perception, and the absurd spectacle of politics. If you’ve followed along, you already know we’re leaning into the strange.
We’re also experimenting.
This project blends hand-drawn artwork, scripted scenes, and generative AI to create a stylized world with an old noir feel moody, surreal, and visually striking. It’s ambitious, and the process has been anything but easy.
We recently settled on a visual style that’s more cohesive and easier to work with. Until then, we had been manually retouching characters and backgrounds in Photoshop, frame by frame, to create consistency. Painstaking, but necessary.
Now we’ve begun using Hailou 02 for the animation generation. It’s opened new possibilities, especially in how we approach movement and atmosphere. Our focus has shifted to making the animations smoother, more expressive, and visually rich, still stylized, but with a stronger sense of rhythm and timing.
There’s still much to do, but we’re proud of how far the project has come. More updates soon.
Here is the first part of the animation
